the pain of the world requires contemplation
Witnessing the pain of the world we find ourselves unable
to offer directly concrete help. This gives rise to confusing
emotions such as denial, powerlessness, guilt, anger, grief.
Because of that our witnessing requires contemplation. To this end, read the essay 'praying for the world', providing
a framework of understanding. It also offers handles
enabling us to transform our feelings into compassion.
Although the karmaconcept plays a crucial role in it, the
presented vision is of a multireligious and humanistic character.
The core of that vision is: we are all part of one and the
same family. We must take care of one another. If not by action
then mentally - by means of prayer.
That requires a new equipment of our heart. The practise of
prayer contributes to that.
